Bottle Tree Park

Been passing by this park (that is located near to Khatib MRT station) daily and the place really caught my attention. From the MRT, I could see uncles fishing by a big fishing pond, and this wooden house on slits at one end of the pond.

Decided to visit this place today. It was hard trying to locate the entrance to the park while driving there.

This place is called “Bottle Tree Park”. It is the second Bottle Tree outlet opened by the Bottle Tree Pte Ltd. The other outlet – “Bottle Tree Village” is located in Sembawang (at the end of Jalan Mempurong).

Both outlets are famous for its Bottle Trees (Brachychiton rupestris) which have been specially flown in from Queensland, Australia by its owners Mr. Alex Neo and Mr. Colin Chia.

Apart from the unique trees, other Australian flora can be spotted in the surroundings. Both the Park and the Village has an eatery is located within its premise serving traditional Chinese stir-fry dishes. (www.bottletree.com.sg).

The eatery is located in this house on slits at one end of the pond in the Park

There is a little pond full of guppies, swordtails, goldfish etc for kids to fish. It is called the “Longkang Fishing” Pond. It cost $10 per kid to fish in the pond and a tank and net are be provided.

Just beside the “Longkang Fishing” Pond is the “Prawn Fishing” Pond. Lots of people with rods were standing by the pond fishing for prawns.

If you are not into fishing, there are other activities in the park too. There is this paintball field where you could engage in a friendly ‘battle’ with your friends with shots of paint.

The park also grows some vegetables which are sold to the public. It’s really an interesting place and I would be revisiting it again :)

Where is this place located? Well here’s the map showing its location

Dim Sum Ala Carte Buffet @ Tung Lok Seafood Arena

Had a dim sum lunch with my family at Tung Lok Seafood Arena yesterday.

Tried the appetizer on the table and I don’t really like it.

Air freshener to scent up the place

We did not order the ala carte lunch since my family members want to eat dim sum only. So we had the dim sum ala carte lunch buffet instead.

Shredded Chicken with Preserved Egg Congee. The congee was smooth and delicious. The you tiao complemented the congee very well.

Black Fungus Chicken with Chinese Wine

Har Zuo, Fried Dough Fritters with Sotong Paste, Chicken Feet with Bean Paste

Char Siew Rice Rolls, Deep Fried Prawn Dumpling, Deep Fried Prawn Rolls Wrapped with Beancurd Skin

Soup Dumpling

Har Kao

Siew Mai

Steamed Nila Fish (Nyoya Style)

Chillied Jellyfish, Roast Chicken, Char Siew. Loved the roast chicken and char siew. The meat was so tender and juicy

I did not eat the egg tarts but my aunty did. She said the crust was flaky and the egg tart wasn’t too sweet. She loved it.

Glutinous Rice Balls coated with Peanut powder

We also ordered Red Bean Paste and Honeydew Sago.
