After movies, I was feeling really famished. Din know where to eat and ED suggested just finding a place to have dinner at Plaza Singapura. In the end I decided to have Zha Jiang Mian (Braised Minced Pork Noodles) at Ice Monster (located at the basement)

We ordered 2 bowls of Zha Jiang Mian, a plate of Gyozas (6 pcs) and a bowl of fresh fruits with shaved ice.
We waited for quite some time before the noodles came. The food totally disappoint us. Noodles were cold and the sauce was really diluted. It wasn’t nice at all.

The gyozas hadn’t arrived even after we had finished our noodles. When it finally came, it doesn’t taste nice either. Filling is really little and it was too oily.

Finally our shaved ice was here. We ordered the mixed fruit shaved ice that comprised of strawberries, kiwis and mangoes cubes on top of the ice. Only the mangoes tasted sweet. The other 2 fruits are simply too sourish.
Overall, the food wasn’t nice at all. Don’t think we would go back there again.
Probably because of the name “Ice Monster” that’s why the food served are cold… hehehe….
haha
ICe Monster frozen all the food
Even the Icey dessert is not nice also .. duhz
But from the picture the gyozas really don’t look nice. Even fail the aesthetics…. Wonder how long they can survive.
gyoza really really not nice at all…. too oily…. filling too little also
If you like Zha Jiang Mian, you can try one at Beauty World Centre. I think Level 4 where the hawker is located. There is a stall run by Chinese named “You Peng” that sells very nice Guan Tang Guo Tie (Soup based Dumpling) and Zha Jiang Mian. The stall is along the stretch where the Post Office cum Stationery shop is located.
Beside the stall is a dessert stall (Food Mapping) that sells nice Black Sesame Soup (Zi Ma Hu), Almond Soup (Xing Ren Lou) and assortment of agar-agar. There is also a fruit pie (peach/strawberry flavours) where the white cream is make of marshmallow instead of cheese. Surprisingly, the marshmallow cream is not sweet at all. It compliments well with the agar-agar, fruits and biscuit crust.
If ED likes Satay Bee Hoon, there is a stall opposite You Peng. Not super nice satay bee hoon but good enough. Ingredients are fresh.
I forgot to mention. You have to wait at least 15 minutes for the Guo Tie because they only wrap and cook upon order.
sounds delicious…. gonna try that … tks for the recommendation
oh dear, the gyozas really look horrible. i thought of giving this store a visit, until i see this entry of yours… guess i shall give it a skip!
oh ya…. quite disappointing for us cos I heard so much about it that’s why decided to have my dinner there.. ED din really fancy such food but went along with me … and it had to taste so terrible…
