A short vacation at Banyan Tree Bintan (Day 1)

Gotta thank my aunt for giving us this opportunity to have a short vacation at Banyan Tree Bintan. She is unable to utilise the Banyan Tree voucher due to personal reasons and decided to give it to me.

It was really a last minute decision to go on this short trip as the voucher expires end Jun 2011.  The voucher is a 2D1N stay at Banyan Tree Bintan Valley Villa. However, when I called up Banyan Tree, they told me they have phased out this Villa and promptly upgraded us to the Seaview Villa. Wow… I enquired if there are still available Villas for reservation at this last minute and was fortunate that there are.

So off we go on our short little vacation :)

The weather aren’t too good when we set off for Bintan. Stormy clouds looms above and soon it started to pour. Prayed really hard that the rain would stop when we arrive at Bintan.

The rain did stop when we arrived and we were soon on Banyan Tree’s private charter to the resort. Land transfers cost USD25 and it is not included in the voucher.

We were served a refreshing glass of drink and a cold towel to freshen up. Choose from either Ginger Lime juice or freshly squeezed fruit juice :)

Every villa is different and are not close to one another, lending privacy to its occupants. All the Villas faces the sea and you get unobstructed view of the sea.

At the last minute, we decided to extend our stay by another night and enquired if it is possible to do so. In addition, we have already bought our return ferry tickets… that might be a bit of a prob if we were to extend our stay by another day but the friendly and helpful receptionist managed to not only help us extend our stay but help to change our ferry departure dates and timing.

Btw, all the villas comes with a heated jacuzzi… really nice to soak in the warm water while looking at squirrels jumping from tree to tree.

After we have left our luggages in the villa, we decided to go out to have our lunch since it’s already 2 pm (Singapore Time). As we were walking to the restaurant, we saw many other villas of different designs. The surroundings in the resort were very serene and so close to nature.
