Got a really nice durian cake for my dad’s birthday from Jane’s Cake Shop @ Jalan Kayu.
Despite the plain look of the durian cake, it tasted heavenly with every bite. Layers of durian mousse with lotsa durian flesh were sandwiched between layers of sponge cake. Paid about $36 for the cake shown below

Had my first taste of the chocolate cake from Awfully Chocolate at my niece’s birthday 2 weekends ago. I have to say that it is really delicious. It’s not too sweet. The cake is made up of layers of chocolate fudge and chocolate sponge cake sandwiched in between. The cake tasted light and moist but rich in chocolate taste. Really liked it.
The shop only sells one type of cake ie chocolate cake. Other than the All Chocolate cake which I tasted, the shop also sells 2 other kinds of chocolate cake (ie Chocolate Banana cake and Chocolate Rum & Cherry Cake). This cake shop also sells chocolate ice-cream which I think I would give it a try the next time I drop by for their cakes
