Imperial Treasures La Mian Xiao Long Bao @ Marina Square

Had dinner with my family at Imperial Treasures La Mian Xiao Long Bao restaurant last Sat. Queue for approx 20 mins before we got a table. It was super crowded that day as alot of people were in that area to catch the Fireworks for that night.

Our personal Fav – Fried Rice with Fresh Prawns. I only try a bit of the fried rice without the prawns and I loved it so much. There’s this ‘wok mei’ in the fried rice. Hubby and my kid said the prawns were very ‘crunchy’

Stir Fried Fish Slices with Black Fungus. Initially when we looked at the picture in the menu, we thought they used ‘sheng yu’ to cook. But it’s actually cod fish. Oh my, it’s so delicious. The fish slices simply melted in my mouth. Very nice dish. $14 per plate.

La Mian with Wanton Soup. The La Mian were very nice and Q. I love the wanton too. The wanton skin was paper thin.

Steam Chives Dumpling. The dumpling skin was thin and the filling was alot. But hubby don’t really like chives dumplings so he gave this a miss.

We also ordered Pan Fried Gyozas but I forgot to take a picture of that. Hubby love this alot cos the filling is mosting minced pork and very very little chives. :) As usual, the dumpling skin was very very thin.

We ordered these Golden Balls to try. It has red bean paste and banana filling wrapped with egg white scouffle and the deep fried to golden brown and dusted with icing sugar.
Not too sweet but a tad too oily for my liking

Total Cost for the meal comes up to approx $60 (including taxes and other misc charges).
We also ordered 3 glasses of Soy Milk $1.80 each

Dinner At Jap Restaurant @ Food Republic (Suntec)

Had a nice dinner at this Jap Restaurant located in Food Republic at Suntec yesterday. Went there to have dinner before heading off to watch the fireworks.

Salmon Maki. Very nice and delicious. A bit crispy inside when u bite in and then the bursting of the roe in your mouth when you chew the whole thing… simply delicious.

Order this big pot of pork sukiyaki. The pork belly is so tiny sliced that the meat simply melt in your mouth. So tender and nice. The soup is really tasty too.

Ordered this Saba and Chicken Bento. The set comes with Chawanmushi and rice. The Saba is grilled nicely with taste of bbq smell and the meat was just tender and not too hard. Not too fishy too.

This sidedish was highly recommended by the waitress. It’s grilled eggplant with miso. The miso melted on top of the eggplant and looks like cheese to me. The taste is very nice. The eggplant moist and soft and the miso added a salty taste to it.

Pork cooked with Miso, ginger, spring onion and carrots strips. The chef uses pork belly that is also so thinly sliced that it melted in your mouth when you chewed it.

National Day Celebration @ Ritz Carlton (9 Aug 2007)

Requested for an early check-in but did not expect Ritz to allow us to check-in as early as 9 am. :) Pleasantly surprised. Good a really warm welcome from the hotel staff. Service was always prompt and staff always greet you when they see you. However found that room furnishings are a little old. Heard from the Hotel Manager that Ritz would be refurbishing its rooms end of the year. Looking forward to brand new looking rooms then :)

Beds looks really soft and cosy rite? :)

Muffin, erm… this one taste like cake but looks like a bread… with dried fruits inside. Taste heavenly with nutella. Tat is a bowl of bak kut teh. Taste ok and the You Tiao is very crunchy cos they toasted each of the cut piece.

The Morning Before Checking Out from Ritz Carlton (11 Aug 2007)

Woke up early and decided to have a nice bath before heading down to the cafe for breakfast. Soaked myself in the bathtub and enjoyed the view outside at the same time. Felt so relaxed. :)

I am really looking forward to our stay at the Ritz Carlton on 9 Aug. Hopefully we will get a nice room at the ideal floor we want to catch a great view of the parade and fireworks. Would be updating this page again. :)
